Day 1: Wandered around the city by myself. Went to a park, walked through an antique market, crossed a bridge, went to a botanical garden, walked along the river, and then back to the centre. Met up with Dave by the cathedral and then walked back to our accommodation.

Day 2: Wandered around the city with Dave, until we got to the cathedral, where Yellow Vest protesters started gathering. Stayed there and watched as the crowd grew big and police were lining up to keep the situation under control. The crowd started chanting, the police started releasing tear gas, the crowd started moving, and Dave and I followed the crowd. We kept following the protests for four hours, watched people set stuff on fire, watched the police releasing tear gas and running towards the crowd with their shields, watched as protesters ran from the police, and ran with them. We eventually decided to leave when the crowd had been mostly broken up by the police, and things seemed to have quieted down a bit.

Day 3: Wandered around the city with Dave. Went to a park and watched the birds, tried to go up a tower to get a nice view over the city (but it was closed), and then just wandered around some more.

Day 4: Bought bird food and went to Parc Bordelais. Fed the birds there, and discovered that the park was full of wild rabbits (that discovery made me happy). Went to another park afterwards, and fed the birds there, too. After that, we went to a café and ate vegan hot dogs.
